Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is additional funding provided to publicly funded schools in England to help raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and to close the gap between them and their peers.

Schools receive Pupil Premium funding for pupils who meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Have been registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years (Ever 6 FSM)
• Have been in the care of a local authority for six months or more
• Are children of parents serving in the Armed Forces

In addition to improving academic outcomes, the Pupil Premium grant supports several wider aims, including:

• Increasing social mobility
• Enabling more disadvantaged pupils to access top universities
• Reducing the attainment gap between the highest‑ and lowest‑achieving pupils

We are committed to ensuring that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all pupils.

We make appropriate provision for children belonging to vulnerable groups, including those who are socially disadvantaged, ensuring that their needs are carefully identified, assessed, and addressed.

We recognise that:

• Not all children who receive free school meals are socially disadvantaged
• Not all socially disadvantaged children are eligible for or registered to receive free school meals

Pupil Premium funding is allocated following a needs analysis, which identifies priority classes, groups, or individual pupils requiring additional support.

Our Governing Board is responsible for monitoring the impact of Pupil Premium spending and for ensuring that the school publicly reports how this funding is used and the difference it makes.
